Alurgite
is a type of red mica,a muscovite variety with formula Mg2[B4O5(OH)4]2·H2O and hardness of 2.5. In
fact is a manganoan-phengite where otherwise would be green. The pleasant red-wine color is due to
manganese and it is found in one place only in the world: the Emilius mountain in Aosta Valley, Italy.
