Araucarioxylon arizonicum
also known as just petrified wood.This colorful material belong to an extinct member of the araucariaceae,
a giant fossil tree of the Triassic perido dated about 200 million yearg ago.
The original wood has been replaced by silica and the colors are due to minerals present in the
sediments, mostly iron and manganese.Polished on both side. From Arizona.
